About a year after she opened Sleep Wise, she had another opportunity to join the fast growing event and media company called momstown.ca.  After having made connections with so many moms in my community on such an intimate level she realized what a need there was to find ways to get these moms the support they needed from their community.  And so momstown Niagara was born.  As the Online Editor, she is able to shed light on important parenting topics and provide resources for everything family related.

Her journey towards becoming a professional sleep consultant began when she had children of her own. It wasn’t until her second child was a toddler that she came to realise how detrimental a chronic lack of sleep can be for a family. Katie Himsworth, is the Regional Director for Bermuda & The Caribbeans here at the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants.  She unknowingly started off her career supporting families when she was in University in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked as a Night Nanny and the little boy she was caring for was having troubles getting to sleep and waking up. She was able to see what the issues were and asked his Mum if she could make a few changes to the routine and to how she would respond to him at night. They discussed the changes that needed to be made and the approach with which to make changes she felt best suited him.

Five nights later he was sleeping through the night. And from there, her business and education grew. Supporting women and their babies has always been her passion. She is a certified Birth Doula as well as a

Her older two boys, now in their mid-twenties, are still in Canada.  She is amazed to be back home working with women on the island and making a difference in her community. Having been away for over 20 years, the island has changed. What hasn’t changed is the need families have for healthy sleep habits and empathetic support. She is so happy to be able to offer this service, not only here at home in Bermuda but also throughout the Caribbean.

Jolandi’s journey with Good Night started with her being a client. The baby-mom-sleep-struggle ignited her passion for sleep and her purpose became clear. After joining Good Night as a consultant in 2014, her passion grew with each family she assisted. Now, Jolandi has helped hundreds of families, and she believes sleep is the fundamental building block of healthy living. She considers the education around better sleep as a passion rather than a job.

In 2016 she joined the management team and a year later she became joint owner. With each role she’s taken on, she’s felt the difference she was making to assist families during their own struggles. She continues to feel the passion as for her, Good Night is an extension of who she is.
